The Celestron off axis guider is a useful accessory for those who want to get the maximum performance from their optical instrument for astrophotography. It allows to improve the tracking performance of the instrument used, ideal for long focal length like Cassegrain and Ritchey-Chrétien. With this tool, you can use a single telescope to capture and track without compromising the focal plane between the camera and the guiding camera, the results images will be well tracked and very precise.
The off-axis is realized with an adjustable internal 12.5 mm prism very bright, the external adjustment screws change its position allowing the user to search the guide star very easily with extreme precision. The advantages of the off-axis are varied, using a single instrument for photographing and guide, drastically reduces the load on the mount, limiting the maximum possible unbalances. The two cameras (guiding and shooting) are parfocal with each other (same point of focus) so it will be enough to focus on just one tool, saving a lot of time when focusing the instruments. The focus of the guide camera is made easier thanks to the built-in helical focuser providing the excursion required for most of the camera on the market.
With the Celestron off axis it's supplied various adapters and spacers (both male and female) in order to allow you to connect properly and make parfocal the two sensors used. With the necessary fittings and accessories you can install any camera on the market, like Reflex DSRL, CCD or CMOS.
