GSO Ritchey-Chretien 152mm f/9 with metal tube and SESTO SENSO: the advantages
The GSO is a true Ritchey-Chrétien reflector telescope. Contrary to Maksutovs or Schmidt-Cassegrains which have spherical mirrors and need image correctors, and contrary to Newtonians that need coma correctors, the RC system is a well corrected photographical instrument that uses only mirrors (no false colour!) and does not require any corrector with many cameras. The RC is a true reflection system without lens corrector and with a really bright image. The RC has a concave hyperbolical primary mirror and a convex hyperbolical secondary mirror. The resulting image correction throughout the field as well as the sharpness on the optical axis are superior to other telescopes. Both mirrors are ground and polished under pricision computer control to diffraction-limited or better surface accuracy. Most similar telescopes have a movable primary mirror cell. When focusing the telescope the entire mirror is moved. Unfortunately this technique invariably leads to a certain amount of image shift. Most manufacturers have controlled this problem to a fair extent, but the remaining image shift can be quite distracting for astro-imaging, particularly with cameras with a small sensor size or when taking series of frames with several hours of total exposure time. In the GSO RC the mirror sits in a fixed mirror cell and focus is changed with a separate focuser. This eliminates the problem of image shift completely.

This special version of the GSO Ritchey-Chretien 152mm f/9 adds SESTO SENSO 2 - The highly accurate, advanced, vibration free, robotic focusing motor for your telescope! Connect it to the USB port of your EAGLE or Windows® computer to electronically control focus while still allowing you to manually move your focuser by hand if needed. If you don’t want to focus using a computer, you can connect wirelessly from any smartphone or tablet using the integrated Virtual HandPad via the built-in Wifi network in the SESTO SENSO 2! Thanks to the Self Centering Clamp technology (SCC), SESTO SENSO 2 can be installed on most focusers without the need of external brackets. The supplied FOCUS Manager software and ASCOM driver allow easy configuration of the many advanced features of SESTO SENSO 2. Thanks to the precisely controlled motor with integrated electronics, SESTO SENSO 2 achieves incredible precision of just 0.7 microns. And you can also expand SESTO SENSO 2 features by adding the ARCO robotic camera rotator!
