In order to make high quality astrophotography, connecting a DSLR or mirrorless cameras to the telescope is not enough. It is necessary to be able to set and shoot the camera without touching it to avoid vibrations while recording and use the autoguide to automatically correct normal tracking errors of equatorial mounts. When using an external computer, telescope becomes complicated because of many cables or power supplies, it is less portable and it is necessary to study the capture and guide software. EAGLE CORE simplifies both your telescope and software, making your instrument easier to use and transport.

As for other EAGLE control units, EAGLE CORE is installed directly on your telescope, it powers the elements of your telescope (12V, up to 3 instruments) and it has a modular PLUS case allowing you to install it on all telescopes and to personalize your configuration as you prefer. It has also been designed to allow you to do long exposure astrophotography even with telephoto lenses thanks to a special shooting mode with the guide scope positioned at the telephoto lens side (see photo below).

In order to use EAGLE CORE together with a telephoto lens (and guide scope in parallel) you have to add "140mm PLUS dovetail bar" to be connected under EAGLE CORE body, in order to install everything on the equatorial mount. In the upper part the EAGLE CORE has a 1 1/4" photo thread to connect a photo ball head and then the camera. If you have an heavy photo lens (for example with focal length higher than 200mm) you can add the "PLUS Vixen+Losmandy dovetail clamp". Then you can connect the "PLUS 90mm Vixen dovetail bar" under the camera and then connect everything in the dovetail clamp. The guide scope is installed, using the optional 80mm PLUS guide rings and PLUS raisers, to be fixed on the side of EAGLE CORE.

In order to use EAGLE CORE with a telescope (and guide scope in parallel) you can connect it in many different ways and it's compatible with all the telescopes on the market: you can fix it on top of PLUS support rings (for example when you use a refractor) or you can add the dovetail clamp Vixen+Losmandy PLUS and connect to any Vixen or Losmandy style bar. Above EAGLE CORE body you can connect PLUS guide rings with guide scope (where to insert the guide camera).





Control all the devices from your smartphone or tablet with a convenient WiFi connection: you can stay warm in your house or car and control every device of our telescope, without touching it.

Remotely control your Canon EOS or Nikon DSLR or mirrorless camera: set acquisition parameters (number of shots, exposition time, ISO, dithering, delay between pictures), then start capturing a single image or a sequence.These are the cameras already tested and verified with EAGLE CORE:

Focus your DSLR or mirrorless camera: thanks to a special simplified mode, you can focus on the smallest details of your image, moving the focuser manually and remotely thanks to the optional SESTO SENSO and SESTO SENSO 2 motors or ESATTO microfocusers.

Control the computerized mount: connect the handpad of your computerized mount to one of the USB ports of the EAGLE CORE and use SkySafari PLUS or PRO (sold separately) to control it from your device connected to the EAGLE CORE WiFi. Mounts already tested with EAGLE CORE:
- SkyWatcher mounts with SynScan hand-pad (firmware at least 4.39)
- Celestron mounts with NexStar+ hand-pad

Control autoguide camera: thanks to the integrated autoguide software, it automatically corrects tracking errors of the telescope's mount (compatible with QHY5II-L, ASI120MM-S, ASI120MC-S, ASI178MM, ASI290MM, ASI290MC)

- Use dithering: in order to minimize electronic noise and get a better image when you stack more pictures of the same object

- Power up to 3 devices (12V): thanks to optional cables and adapters, you can power the DSLR camera, the mount, etc directly from the EAGLE CORE eliminating the need for other batteries and other external power supplies.






Thanks to EAGLE CORE you will no longer need a laptop: in fact it includes EAGLE OS software to control autoguide and DSLR or mirrorless camera. You can control all capture and guide parameters directly on the screen of your smartphone or your tablet (compatible with iOS and Android devices) connected to EAGLE CORE through the convenient WiFi connection.

Thanks to the innovative design protected by international patent application and Italian utility model, EAGLE CORE has 3 power OUT ports that you can connect (using the optional cables) to different devices such as camera or mount. In this way you will have only one power cable to power EAGLE CORE and other devices and you will reduce not only total consumption but also the number of cables in your instrument. You can also use the optional "Eagle-compatible power cable for Canon EOS and Nikon DSLR camera" to power them from EAGLE CORE (removing the battery you will no more have problems with batteries running out of charge during capturing!).

All the incredible features of EAGLE CORE are enclosed in a compact, lightweight device with the great PrimaLuceLab design. EAGLE CORE case is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation. EAGLE CORE weights only 520 grams so it does not add too much weight on your telescope mount and allows you to create an incredibly portable setup. All in a device 17cm long, 8cm wide and just 3cm thick.

Using the autoguide feature of EAGLE CORE, classic tracking error of the equatorial mounts are corrected: in the image below you can see how a 300 seconds exposition picture recorded at 200mm focal length shows stars not well tracked if the autoguide is not activated (left) and perfectly tracked when we use the autoguide (right).

Ottimo per principianti
Dopo qualche anno funziona ancora benissimo, compatibilità perfetta con la mia Canon 1300d e autoguida , direi ottima per i principianti, mi piace un sacco la funzione dithering peccato per la mancanza di poter vedere l'istogramma direttamente sul portale web.
Consumi estremamente ridotti, la mia batteria da 36Ah con falsa batteria Canon, montatura e autoguida mi dura tranquillamente tutta la notte di scatti continui.
Non vedo l'ora di passare ad EAGLE 4 con una cmos

Ottimo strumento!
Ero un po scettico riguardo ad EAGLE CORE ma devo dire che ha superato le mie aspettative. Semplice e veloce, si integra benissimo con barre e anelli PrimaLuceLab dando un tocco premium al setup. Sarebbe un sogno avere un upgrade software per poter fare anche imaging planetario con una ccd e perché no anche astrofotografia deepsky con camere raffreddate tutto da smartphone/tablet questo lo renderebbe veramente lo strumento definitivo anche se è pensato solamente per le reflex quindi mi accontenterei volentieri di poter fare imaging planetario con la mia asi 290.. Chissà se in futuro sarò accontentato comunque continuate così

Posso solo raccomandare
l'ho preso per alcuni mesi e sono entusiasta di Eagle Core. Funziona ed è facile da usare senza alcun software, è già incluso in Eagle Core. Seleziono un oggetto, centro, fotografo, valuta dopo: è facile con Eagle Core.

Ricominciare a fare Astrofotografia dopo anni di inattività.
Premessa: mi ritengo un atrofilo esperto, pratico da più di 20 anni. Quando ho iniziato a fare astrofotografia c’era ancora la pellicola…

L’astrofotografia è il punto di arrivo di ogni atrofilo, è una pratica molto complessa e richiede un’attrezzatura molto variegata, spesso costosa ma soprattutto, MOLTA. Decine di cavi, batterie, raccordi, ben due camere di ripresa, una per la guida una per l’acquisizione, ma soprattutto un PC.
L’arrivo dei figli, quasi sempre, ci obbliga a porre fine, nostro malgrado, a questa passione a causa del numero e del peso di tutta l’attrezzatura necessario. Per chi, come me, ha bisogno di allontanarsi dalla città, per trovare cieli scuri, ma che deve anche coniugare il tutto con la presenza di tutta la famiglia, rende quasi impossibile portare avanti questo splendido hobby. Di recente, però, sono riuscito a ritagliare un piccolo spazio tra tende, valigie e passeggini, per un setup grab and go, rigorosamente visuale, grazie alla sorprendente montatura iOptron CEM25P, leggerissima ma ancora capace di reggere strumenti relativamente pesanti, un altrettanto sorprendente treppiedi Berlebach Report 172, compattissimo ma capace anche lui di prestazioni fuori dalla norma, ed infine il mio Takahashi TSA 102S che sono riuscito a “ficcare” in una borsa imbottita della Manfrotto, nata per i treppiedi.
L’astrofotografia restava comunque un’utopia.
Finché i “Geni” di PrimaluceLab non hanno introdotto l’Eagle Core.
Un attrezzo che non oso definire RIVOLUZIONARIO.
Da un giorno all’altro, la speranza si è riaccesa, e dopo un solo giorno di utilizzo posso dire che la possibilità di fare astrofotografia è risorta dalle ceneri. In una minuscola valigetta di alluminio 30x20x12 sono riuscito a ficcare i seguenti oggetti che, da oggi in poi, mi permetteranno di ricominciare a fare astrofotografia:

Eagle Core con già avvitati sopra i due anelli per telescopio guida ed il tele guida 60/240, camera di guida QHY5L-II perennemente inserita nel suddetto, e sotto l’eagle core ho avvitato un morsetto Plus a rovescio.
Macchina Fotografica EOS 550D solo corpo, cavo con falsa batteria da collegare direttamente al Core, cavo per alimentare la Montatura da collegare al Core, Cavo per la camera di guida da collegare al Core.

Tempo per il setup fotografico: 5 minuti.
Tiro fuori il blocco Eagle+morsetto+anelli+tele guida+camera guida dalla valigetta, e lo faccio “scivolare” sulla barra vixen Plus che tengo perennemente fissata a rovescio, in cima agli Anelli Plus che reggono il mio TSA 102S, inserisco i 4 cavi nell’Eagle Core (cavo che alimenta la montatura, Cavo che Alimenta la EOS, cavo USB che alimenta la Camera di Guida, ed infine il cavo di alimentazione generale dell’Eagle Core, UNO SOLO per alimentare tutto quanto, che collego alla mia minuscola Batteria da 25A Litionite (https://www.litionite.com/product-page/litionite-tanker-mini-25000mah-aluminium-power-bank-with-display-led-for-laptop).
Collego la EOS al TSA 102, Collego il mio iPhone all’Eagle Core, e comincio a riprendere!

Non contento, controllo il telescopio in remoto, sempre dal mio iPhone, grazie al modulo StarFi che si collega direttamente alla CEM25P e che da essa viene alimentato (quindi anche lui dall’eagle core), grazie all’App SkySafari Pro. La cosa fantastica è che lo StarFi può connettersi come client alla rete wifi creata da Eagle Core, e quindi posso gestire entrambi dallo stesso iPhone o Tablet, switchando tra SkySafari (per controllare il Tele) e l’App di Eagle Core (per riprendere).

Faccio lo sviluppatore Software di lavoro, e posso dire a ragione, che il lavoro fatto da PrimaLuceLab sull’Eagle Core è straordinario. Il software di controllo è essenziale, graficamente accattivante, e funziona al primo collegamento. Una gioia. Mai più senza.
