This guide shows how to properly set remote control of your EAGLE from a Mac computer with macOS operative system. This article has been written by using a macOS Sonoma 14.5 and Microsoft Remote Desktop 10.7.8 (2006) app. From the Mac App Store of your computer, please search and install the “Microsoft Remote Desktop” app. If you do not know how to install the app from the Mac App Store, please read the manual of your computer. Thanks to the remote control app, you have EAGLE with all your software on your device screen. Start the “Microsoft Remote Desktop” app. Click the + button (top-right), then select \u201cAdd PC”.<\/p>\n

In the window that opens, in “PC name” enter 192.168.137.1. Then select the \u201cUser Account” field and choose “Add user account”. A window will open where you can enter your username and password to log on to Windows.
\nThe values are:
\n– Username: PrimaLuceLab;
\nPassword: (that shown in the flyer in the EAGLE box)<\/p>\n

Then press the button “Save” to save the access data. WARNING: when entering your data check that your device does not automatically insert a space after the word “username” and “password”. Then select the option \u201cConnect to an admin session\u201d and press the “Add” button to confirm and save the access data.\u00a0 Returning to the main page you will find a new connection.<\/p>\n

Make a double click on the connection and\u00a0 and you’ll see on your device’s desktop EAGLE. Now you are ready to use the software you prefer to control your telescope. NOTE: You can also use another Remote Desktop client, the Parallels Client (you can download from here https:\/\/www.parallels.com\/products\/ras\/capabilities\/rdp-client\/<\/a>). This client has to be set as the Microsoft one, the only difference is that this will ask also the Port number, please set it to 3389.<\/p>\n

NOTE: after being connected to the EAGLE’s WiFi, I start Remote Desktop connection but the error\u201cUnable to connect\u201d appears. How can I fix this?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this case, we have to configure Network settings on your Mac, let\u2019s do the following.<\/p>\n

Go to your macOS System Preferences, select Wi-Fi and make sure your Mac is connected to the EAGLE’s WiFi network. Then click on the Details button to the right of the EAGLE’s WiFi connection.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next, click on the \u201cDNS\u201d tab. Under \u201cSearch Domains\u201d click the \u201c+\u201d symbol, and in the popup window that opens, type \u201c.local\u201d and press keyboard ENTER to confirm.<\/p>\n

This will add a Search Domain as you can see in the image below.<\/p>\n

Click OK button to confirm. Check that now your Mac is connected to the EAGLE\u2019s WiFi and start the Remote Desktop connection.<\/p>\n
