In this video, Filippo explains features\u00a0of advanced astrophotography automation softwares\u00a0and shows that they are perfect for use with the EAGLE control unit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Advanced astrophotography automation softwares (such as <a href=\"https:\/\/mainsequencesoftware.com\/Products\/SGPro\">Sequence Generator Pro<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/software.starkeeper.it\/index.php\/voyager\/\">Voyager<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyperion-astronomy.com\">Prism<\/a>) in fact replace various software that, for example, are provided with the different devices used in astrophotography with telescopes: instead of using, for example, a software to capture the images from the camera, one to focus, a software to change the filters and one to align and point\u00a0the mount, advanced astrophotography automation softwares\u00a0include all these features\u00a0in a single platform and allow all the devices that compose\u00a0the telescope for astrophotography to work together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 650px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DTJ9-F8xhO0?rel=0\" width=\"300\" height=\"365\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In fact, a typical long-exposure astrophotography session (to record\u00a0galaxies, nebulae or star clusters) requires several steps such as:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Telescope installation<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Polar alignment<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stars alignment<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Object goto and framing<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Autoguide<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Filter selection<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Precision focusing<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Images capture<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Optional, filter change<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Precision focusing<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Images capture<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Instead of being &#8220;manually&#8221; performed by the operator using different softwares, Filippo used <a href=\"https:\/\/mainsequencesoftware.com\/Products\/SGPro\">Sequence Generator Pro<\/a>\u00a0advanced astrophotography automation software\u00a0(after performing\u00a0the polar alignment with a Polemaster) to point the object to be recorded\u00a0(NGC7331 galaxy with the Stephan Quintet, a group of five galaxies located in Pegasus\u00a0constellation), select LRGB filters, \u00a0precisely focus (focus is performed for each filter), start the autoguide and capture a sequence of LRGB images (9xL images 300 seconds each, 9xR images 180 seconds each, 9xG images 180 seconds each, 9xB images 180 seconds each).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1559\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1559\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1559 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.primalucelab.com\/wp\/astronomia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/Software-di-automazione-per-astrofotografia-articolo1.jpg\" alt=\"Advanced astrophotography automation softwares with EAGLE: the telescope used for the article\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1559\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Advanced astrophotography automation softwares with EAGLE: the telescope used for the article<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The used telescope is the Celestron EdgeHD 925 (with focal reducer and electronic focuser) with ATIK 16200 monochrome CCD camera (equipped with ATIK EFW3 7&#215;50.8m motorized filter wheel with Baader LRGB filters, ATIK OAG off-axis guider and\u00a0Lodestar X2 guide camera), everything\u00a0installed on the Avalon-Instruments M-Uno mount and controlled by EAGLE.
