Our C82 pier is made of steel and it has a high rigidity and load capacity, thanks to the central tube 5 mm thick. Together with the adapter to connect the mount, it has a height of 82cm from the ground.
Main specifications:
- Stable and safe, perfect for fixed installation of telescopes
- Thick central tube for high rigidity
- Base with pairs of 120° holes for perfect horizontal leveling
- Adapter for EQ5 / HEQ5 / AZ-EQ5 equatorial mounts
- White painting for a long life
The pier base is circular and it has a diameter of 35 cm. Here there are three pairs of holes set at 120°. Each pair consists of a through hole in which you can insert the retaining screw to the concrete base and an M16 threaded hole in which to put a thrust screw to adjust, during the installation of the pier, the perfect vertical position of the pier itself.
I ordered this mount from OPT in California, and when I ordered it I was told it had a 5-6 week delivery. Well it came in 19 days. In fact the concrete was still setting and not ready for me to epoxy bolts into it for the base of the C82 Pier. I mounted the pier using 3/4" bolts about 10 inches long and epoxied these into the cement. With the provided 18MM SS screws and flat SS shims, I was able to level this mount to perfection. I bolted on the EQ6-R head, attached the Lat/Log adjusting screw, and finally put on the Mount. SOLID, is the only word I can think of that would describe this pier. No vibration, no difference in leveling and a perfect fit for my telescope mount. The white color was powered coated and the three stability fins on the base ensured that the mounting pier was stable. This is my first experience with a Primaluce product, but I am ready to purchase more. Bruce
