This Canon EOS M48 ring with 50.8mm filter holder is similar to the "Canon EOS M48 ring with 50,8mm filter holder" but, in front, it has a M48 thread (48x0,75 female) instead of T2 (42x0,75 female). Compared to the classic T2 rings, it not only offers a greater diameter front thread (thus reducing the possibility of vignetting and it's well suited to cameras with sensors as large as 24x36mm) but it also allows you to insert, inside, a 50,8mm diameter filter. In this way it is possible to install the filters close to the sensor and in a very practical way!
In some cases, such as when we want to use an off-axis guider with a DSLR, it is difficult to place a filter since, if you connect it in front of the off-axis guider, you would also filter the light sent to the autoguiding camera (making more difficult to find the guide star).
This ring solves this problem allowing you to insert a normal 50.8mm filter (without the stop filter barrel you have to insert just the 46mm diameter disc glass filter) inside the M48 ring itself. So you can remove the lens from your Canon EOS and insert the M48 ring, just as if it were another lens. In this way you do not only get, in the front of your Canon EOS, a M48 thread to connect the camera to your telescope or other photographic accessories, but you'll also have the filter positioned inside the M48 ring!
All in a simple and safe way, without having to purchase additional filters for your cameras!
Warning: this M48 ring is only compatible with the Canon EOS models and not with other Canon cameras (not EOS series).

Finalmente l'hanno inventato. E' un'ottima soluzione che permette di avere davanti al sensore della reflex il filtro. Mai più senza!
