When you use a telescope and, in particular the Eagle control unit, you need to power the devices. When you have access to a electricity plug, you usually haven't problems (you just need to use a 12V power supply) but how can you power the devices when you're on the field, maybe photographing the night sky from an unpolluted place by artificial lights? Instead of using cumbersome and heavy lead-acid batteries, you can choose the new ALL NIGHT 20A lithium battery which is much smaller and lighter!
The ALL NIGHT 20A lithium battery provides a 12V output (4.5A maximum current ) so it is perfect to power the Eagle control unit when it is used to power a computerized mount and other accessories, for astrophotography with DSLR camera (for the use of cooled CCD cameras, a higher capacity ALL NIGHT battery will be available soon). Thanks to 20A capacity, it can power the Eagle and many connected instruments for all the night. For example if you need to power:
- Eagle: average hourly power consumption around 0,5A/hour
- EQ6 SynScan mount: average hourly power consumption around 1,5A/hour
- SestoSenso electronic focusing control: average hourly power consumption around 0,5A/hour
so you will have a total power consumption of 2,5 A/hour and the ALL NIGHT 20A lithium battery will last for 8 hours!
The lithium battery ALL NIGHT 20A can also be used to power instruments different other than Eagle. In addition to the 12V port, there are 2 USB ports (to power other instruments such as smartphones, tablets, GPS systems, etc.). In the front, there is a LCD display which shows the percentage of remaining power, so you can always check the charging state of your battery.
