QHYCCD QHY168C color camera uses the same DX sensor (28.2mm diagonal, 4952 x 3288 resolution) of the Nikon D5100 DSLR but it adds a powerful cooling system (up to -35°C in respect to ambient temperature) and a perfect management of RAW file without compression. This way, with a single camera, you will be able to record perfect pictures both of deep-sky objects (with long exposition times) and planetary or lunar ones at high magnification thanks to integrated DDRII 128MB buffer memory that allows you to record up to 10 fps in full resolution and 30 fps at 1920x1080!

16 mega pixel resolution and RAW files

QHYCCD QHY168C camera has a big 28.2mm diagonal CMOS color sensor with 16 mega pixel resolution (4952 x 3288). USB3.0 interface, very low readout noise, Peltier cell cooling system (maximum delta T is -35°C below ambient) and 14bit ADC converter makes this camera a great choice for people searching for a all-in-one system capable of recording great pictures both of deep-sky (galaxies, nebula and star clusters) and planetary (planets, Moon) objects. Although DSLR cameras can record images in RAW format, typically it's still not a really perfect raw image since you can find the de-noise sign on the raw images because of the hot pixel removal. But the QHY168C camera offers a TRUE RAW IMAGE OUTPUT, saving the original file and keeping the maximum flexibility for astronomy image processing.



Cooling and anti-fog system

The QHY168C camera has an efficient cooling system with two-stage Peltier cell that allows you to lower the temperature of the sensor down to -35°C above the ambient temperature. Furthermore, the integrated heating plate in the camera prevents fogging of the optical window in front of the sensor even in conditions of high humidity.

128MB integrated memory

Thanks to development work of QHYCCD, the QHY168C has the built-in 128 MB high-speed DDR memory allows buffering of images to avoid loss of frames, making this camera perfect for use even with low-performances control computer.
