The Moravian G4 uses a CCD sensor 37 × 37 mm, which is 50% more than the area of a frame in a classic film. The internal cooling system keeps the CCD at a constant temperature, allowing for calibration of images easier and better. The cameras can be equipped either with a liquid cooling system or by the Peltier cell, while the two rear vents extract the hot air generated by the heat sinks. All CCD used by Moravian are equipped with "anti-blooming gate" (ABG), which reduces the excess charge in the pixels saturated, particularly important for large format cameras. The quantum efficiency of this sensor is 70% .The G4 is equipped with pre-flash un'elelettronica near-IR to cope with the image effect Bulk residue.
The mechanical shutter is integrated inside the chamber. Unlike the G3 and G2 camera, the G4 has an integrated filterwheel that accept only filters from 50 × 50 mm square, (the circular filters 50 mm in diameter cause vignetting on large CCD) because of the limited space can not be integrated within the chamber. However, it is possible to connect an external filterwheel, in fact, the G4 has a connector that allow a control system The filter wheels Moravian are available at both positions 5 to 7 that, both for non-mounted filters in the cell of 50 x 50 mm.
For connection to the telescope is avaiable an adapter M68 female, the working distance from the thread to the camera it is 30.5mm.
