One of the biggest problems that you face when you want to record deep sky objects or planets with digital cameras is to find and center them in the small field that usually these cameras have (generally much smaller than the one of an eyepiece).
Our Deluxe Imaging Flip Mirror is a useful accessory that lets you easily focus and center the object to record in the field of CCD cameras, using a handy eyepiece. Inside the Deluxe Imaging Flip Mirror there is a mirror, similar to the one of normal mirror diagonals, that can be placed in two positions. In one, the mirror reflects the light towards the eyepiece positioned above the flip-mirror that allows the user to center the photographed object. In the other, the mirror moves out leaving the light exit behind the flip mirror where the CCD camera is positioned. So you can start the photography.

The 31.8mm connection above the Deluxe Imaging Flip Mirror has a convenient focus mechanism that allows you to adjust the focus of the eyepiece indipendently from the focus of the camera, connected in the rear output. This focuser travel is 14mm. On this new version there's a helical focuser on the camera side, with 90mm of focus travel.
The use of the Deluxe Imaging Flip Mirror is recommended also for planetary imaging. In fact, most of the users that record the planets and the Moon at high magnifications use Barlow lenses for greater magnifications. In this way you can achieve amazing images of planets like Jupiter or Saturn also with relatively common instruments. At high magnifications, however, center the planet or a Moon's detail in the small camera field is very difficult and is made even more difficult by the fact that the planetary cameras have very small sensors. Instead, using the Deluxe Imaging Flip Mirror before you can center the object to be pictureg with the eyepiece and then take a picture with the camera installed in the rear output of this accessory.
